Maxwell Render 2.5 User Manual
Chapter 3. Using Maxwell Render | 14
does not require a special Maxwell scene le to work.
Maxwell Fire is a free update for existing users of Maxwell Render 2.5 or above and will be
free inside Maxwell Render for new clients.
Educational Users also benet
Maxwell Fire will also be included as a free update to Educational versions of Maxwell
Render v2: anybody holding educational licenses of Maxwell Render 2 will get full
functionality of Maxwell Fire.
Free Demo version of Maxwell Render also includes Maxwell Fire
The free demo version of Maxwell Render 2.5 and relevant plug-ins will also include
Maxwell Fire. So anybody wanting to road-test Maxwell Render will also be able to take
advantage of this awesome interactive technology. This also means anyone wanting to
test Maxwell Fire inside their plug-in and/or Maxwell Studio will be able to check it out for
free.
Necessary resolution restriction
Like the free Demo version of Maxwell Render itself, Maxwell Fire inside the free demo
version has its rendering resolution limited to 720x576 pixels. You can adjust the rendering
resolution in a quality scale, taking values from 1 to 5, meaning that you can easily specify
the quality/speed of your interactive view.
3.04 Command Line
Maxwell Render can also be launched from the command line, without displaying the
Maxwell GUI. This can be useful for automating certain render tasks, although the new
scripting capabilities in Maxwell Render version 2 (and further extended in version 2.5)
offer much greater control and functions to automate jobs. Please see the in-depth
Command Line description in Appendix III.
3.05 Network rendering
High-end projects often need extra computing power. The Maxwell Render™ Network
system allows jobs to be sent individually to each machine on the net, rendering animations
or single frames. It is also possible to let all machines render the same frame and merge
the images that have been created at the end of the rendering process. Other useful
functions include grouping nodes for exclusive assignment or displaying an image that is
being rendered by a specic node.
Maxwell Render 2 brings a completely new Network system which is more stable, more
robust, and easier to congure, with central control over the entire farm.
